Our Story: Responsibility leads to success

The Family Business of Jana and Radoslav Antal

The Antal brand specializes in producing high-quality barefoot footwear in eastern Slovakia. This family-run company began its journey in 2020 with a clear goal – to create shoes that are high-quality, elegant, comfortable, and functional. The entire process, from research and development to manufacturing and distribution, is carried out in-house.

Supporting regional development

One of Antal's main goals is to support employment in areas where it is most needed. The company was established as a social enterprise, meaning it reinvests its profits into community and regional development.

The manufacturing site is located in the town of Medzilaborce, known for its shoemaking tradition but also one of the poorest regions in the EU. By building the production "from scratch," the company provides much-needed jobs for local residents.

Attention to detail

Antal carefully selects all materials, sourcing them from verified suppliers within the EU. Collaborating with local suppliers helps reduce the carbon footprint by shortening the transportation routes for materials.

The shoes are made from leather that meets strict standards, covering everything from the origin of the material to the careful use of energy, water, emissions, waste management, workplace health and safety, and fair working conditions. The company also uses certified recycled materials that are both functional and durable, including threads, laces, and boxes.

Everything under one roof

The entire production process, including research, development, storage, logistics, and sales, takes place under one roof. This setup allows for faster delivery of goods to business partners and end customers. Thanks to in-house manufacturing and storage, Antal ensures quick delivery.
