Help where it's needed most with the VIVOBAREFOOT Soul of Africa collection
A wise man once said, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
This is also the philosophy of the Soul of Africa project, in which the VIVOBAREFOOT brand participates. It does not make sense to just send money to charity, which, although needed, will not guarantee a long-term solution to problems in African countries, such as poverty and hunger.
Providing people with jobs that support them and help them create value, this is the main message of the Soul of Africa project. VIVOBAREFOOT shoes from the Soul of Africa collection are made in Ethiopia from local sources and by local workers, mostly single mothers and families affected by AIDS. A portion of the proceeds from each shoe sold goes back to charity projects in Africa, such as building schools and hospitals and supporting orphans whose parents died of AIDS.
